Renaissance Development acquired and is redeveloping the long-vacant Kavanagh Building, formerly a family-owned furniture retailer. The redevelopment will comprise a mixed-use building(s) with 25 one-bedroom apartment units, and approximately 4,500 sq. ft. of rentable office and retail space.
This redevelopment project is on a prominent corridor in Springfield. Renaissance Development has been awarded grant funds to help with the revitalization efforts and preservation of this historic building. We will demolish and rebuild the rear of the building due to the poor condition of the foundation and soil. We will replace the roof and substantially renovate the interior, with new mechanical systems to be installed throughout. The completed project will be slightly over 34,000 sq ft. and will have parking for 32 cars, including 2 electric car charging stations.
